Sometimes you need something to chant to yourself when the finish line seems a little too far away. This is my favorite one:
I am up before the sun. My day is full of moments and I make them all count. I see that my needs are met. I am strong and reliable. I always want to feel this alive.
Even though I'm often NOT up before the sun, I say that part anyway. Chanting something passes the time, and this one always makes me feel better, faster, stronger. I do all kinds of things in my head to pass the time, like name all my teachers from kindergarten through law school, but this is a little more on-topic.
I have seen this quote attributed to "Schiff," but at press time I could not confirm that. Anyone know for sure?

Meet in front of Anthony's Fish Grotto on N. Harbor Drive and West Ash Street. We gather at 6:20ish a.m., start running at 6:30, and go out and back for either 3 or 5 miles. Run (or walk) at your own pace. There are at least two public restrooms along the way, one close to the start. Free parking at the meters until 8 a.m. and there is ample parking at this time of the morning. It's a great way to start the weekend! See you there.

See you on Wednesday, February 3, for Boot Camp at 6:40 a.m. at PETCO Park "Park at the Park." They open the gates when it is light enough, which happens at approximately 6:40 a.m. at this time of year. We still end promptly at 7:30 a.m. All levels welcome! Bring some water and, if you want to, a mat or a towel. The entrance is at 9th Avenue and J Street. Parking is pretty easy to find. All levels welcome!
